Hello all, hoping everyone is enduring the cold here before Christmas. It took a while to get here (hey I was wearing shorts Thanksgiving this year) but it is here for sure.
Today I made some changes. I have merged alecthomasphotography.com and crewimages.com. The alecthomasphotography will be going away February 1, 2017. Crewimages just seems so much easier to remember, and will be my go-to site.
Also I now have an instagram.com account that I will be keeping up with. I am now SOCIAL CITY.
Please follow me on any and all. I will likely return the favor
Merry Christmas one and all.
Recently the Delta Flight museum contacted me to photograph the 747 as it was being moved into its final resting place there. It will be an amazing sight to see. They are going to do all kinds of cool things with this "Whale" of a plane.
Bookings. Happening fast.
Last year, the fall and winter months were my busiest all year. So far, the same appears to be happening this year. I am so happy to be helping families enjoy their big day.
If you can, please let me know ahead of time of your big day so I can get you booked.
Recently, I received a call from a 30 year Captain at Delta to photograph an event in downtown Atlanta. It was for a 30-year reunion for a group of new hire pilots. New in 1986.
What a great bunch of guys. They were full of joy, had a ton of faith in the company, and were extremely happy to be part of making Delta a great place to be.
They were the best. I wish them well, and continued success.
From your friendly photo folks at Crew Images

My A350 Photos were used in USA Today. Great.
Recently I fell in Love all over again. Yes I still love my wife, more than ever, but the opportunity came to fall in love again. It was not with another girl, but with an amazing airbus A350XWB.
Airbus called me a while back to go photograph this beauty as she is making her tour around the world to show off for potential buyers, and general airline buffs, who were available to see her. I was one of those people.
From the mood lights, to the carbon-fiber, to the flight deck that looks like the Millennium Falcon, I could not be more impressed, and Airbus was happy with their photos.

Recent photo from a Delta ramp event in Atlanta. It made the cover of an internal ACS magazine and was used over their websites. The Atlanta ramp is one of the best places to photograph.

Have a great summer!
Recently I have had questions regarding what is involved in my coverage of a pilot retirement.
Well, the long and short of it is:
- The customer retains my services for two hours, minimum.
- I photograph your aircraft wash down (operations permitting)
- I get candid photos with crew, customers, and family onboard the aircraft.
- Then the presentation of plaques, pins, and photos is photographed
- After that, we get whatever photos you want in the gate house, be it family, friends, co-pilots etc.
- Then, operation permitting, we go to the ramp level and grab some portraits around the exterior of the aircraft, as well as onboard.
After that, in three days, you will be e-mailed a password-protected, private website. There you can view, share, and purchase custom books, photos, and other items. The photos will already be toned and ready for purchase.
In 10-15 days after that, you will receive a DVD full of the images, for you to do with what you wish.
